Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS)

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is a disorder in which the Brachial Plexus (Nerve supply to
Upper Extremity) and/or subclavian vessels (main arteries and veins supplying the upper extremity) are compressed as they exit the neck and travel into the arm. Symptoms of TOS include but are not limited to: pain/numbness/tingling into the ring and little finger as well as the inside of the forearm, grip weakness, arm heaviness, fatigue, or coldness, and possible headaches, pain in neck or behind the ear. These symptoms may also be evoked with other cervical spine disorders or upper extremity disorders.

At King Physical Therapy and Fitness we are able to recognize and treat all symptoms whether they originate from a disc, stenosis, thoracic outlet syndrome, shoulder disorders or even carpal tunnel. Our therapists are trained with the most up-to-the-minute therapeutic techniques available. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are currently accepting most major insurances.

Long-Term Relief From Sciatica

Sciatica is the painful condition that results from compression of nerve roots in the lower Sciatica Painspine that merges to form the sciatic nerve in the pelvic area. The good news is that most sciatic pain, which radiates down the length of the spinal column and its related muscles, ligaments, and tendons are all designed to move, and stretching helps to overcome limitations in motion that might cause sciatica flare-ups. In fact, proper stretching and movement is vital to overcoming any number of disorders and injuries. At King Physical Therapy & Fitness, our expert therapists discover your personal needs and create a therapy regimen just for you, whether it’s preventing sciatica or overcoming a chronic disorder. We also provide personal rehabilitation programs for recovery after a fall, accident, or sports injury. Be certain to check out the fitness centers at each of our convenient locations.

P.S. As a means of preventing recurrences of sciatica, attention should also be paid to muscles that are seemingly uninvolved, such as the hamstrings.
