Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS)

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is a disorder in which the Brachial Plexus (Nerve supply to
Upper Extremity) and/or subclavian vessels (main arteries and veins supplying the upper extremity) are compressed as they exit the neck and travel into the arm. Symptoms of TOS include but are not limited to: pain/numbness/tingling into the ring and little finger as well as the inside of the forearm, grip weakness, arm heaviness, fatigue, or coldness, and possible headaches, pain in neck or behind the ear. These symptoms may also be evoked with other cervical spine disorders or upper extremity disorders.

At King Physical Therapy and Fitness we are able to recognize and treat all symptoms whether they originate from a disc, stenosis, thoracic outlet syndrome, shoulder disorders or even carpal tunnel. Our therapists are trained with the most up-to-the-minute therapeutic techniques available. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are currently accepting most major insurances.

Youth Resistance Training

It was once believed that resistance training in pre-adolescents and adolescents was too dangerous and could cause injury, but the current consensus from exercise scientists and clinicians is that youth resistance training is beneficial. Strength gains through resistance training in children is more due to factors such as increased motor unit activation, and changes in motor unit coordination, recruitment and firing rather than muscle hypertrophy. This correlates to reduced sports and recreational injuries as well as improvement in motor skills and sports performance.

At King Physical Therapy & Fitness our fitness staff, physical therapists, and exercise scientists will develop a program specifically for your child whether their goals are sports related or general wellness.  We will introduce resistance training gradually and will monitor your child to minimize and prevent injuries.  We currently have a 1600 square foot area dedicated to our youth speed and personal training. Please call or stop in to one of our two locations for more information.  We also offer special group and team rates.
